4 Insanely Easy Ways to Boost Your Blog

Hello Friends,

I hope that you are well. Here in Vermont we are continuing to move toward a new normal, opening up more businesses and slowly emerging from isolation. As we are all looking toward that ‘new normal’, many of you have discovered that you have something to share, something that you want to say to the world. You want to connect through the written word, but you’re not sure where to start.

I have had so many members of my community asking for advice about writing. So I thought that I’d pass on some great techniques to help you find your audience and increase your readership. These are great tips for people just starting out or if you’ve been writing for awhile.

These are not a quick fix. They are pointers that will help you build an audience that will really want to hear what you have to say and will stay with you.

⚫️Create a Plan

First, you need a plan in order to succeed.   Seeing your goals written down makes them more real, therefore more attainable.  If you don’t have a planner, you can try an academic one like this one:

Crafting your plan comes down to answering 4 important questions.

1. What is your writing about?

2. Who is your ideal reader?

3. How much time do you have to dedicate to writing?

4. How much time do you have to promote your writing?

People often under-value having a plan of action. But if you intend to be successful, you need to have a clear plan that outlines what you are about and how you’re going to get there.

⚫️Write

Get your message out there! Writing is something that you get better at with time and practice. So write all the time. Write about small things that move you, big things that set your mind on fire, and the moments in life that make it worth living. Share your story. Keep an idea journal, block time in your schedule to write and grab unexpected moments to write. If your looking for a great journal that is classic, try this one

⚫️Analyze

The most valuable content that a writer can create is the type of work that keeps readers coming back time after time.

This is why feedback is so important. The good and the bad. Pay attention to your statistics.

If one post gets 50 views and ten comments, but the next one gets 10 views but no comments, try to figure out why.

Analyze your content, titles, images, and promotion strategies.

If you want to see results, you need to keep working. Keep reading, writing, analyzing, and promoting. Soon you will be analyzing views, followers, and comments in the thousands. That’s your community, the people that believe in the message that you have and that keep coming back to read more.

⚫️Be Patient

Lastly, be patient. If you’re kind and patient with yourself, you’ll end up having fun and making friends. Don’t stress, enjoy what you’re doing because you want to do this. This is part of your personal journey toward being the best possible version of yourself and living your best life.

I love being a mom, writing new blog posts each week and crafting my newest book. I also truly enjoy my part-time job. With all of this going on, my life stays interesting and varied, which my community of readers can relate to.

For me, writing is fun and rewarding. And there is nothing like having someone from halfway around the world, or just down the street say, “I love your writing” or “Your writing made a difference.”

It’ll change your life.

Have a Great Day!
