Hello Friends!
So, we are almost in October, three months until 2020. How is everyone doing? Have you been accomplishing your 2019 New Year’s List? Have you been making strides toward being the best version of yourself? Are you closer to living a life that you love?
Now, during pumpkin spice season, before the holidays truly get underway, is a great time to make a list of what you have accomplished and what you would still like to accomplish before the end of the year.
Look at that list and be proud! You made changes! You made strides toward living a life that you love! Put a star or sticker on all the things that you have accomplished this year!
In our society today, we are very focused on what we need to do next and what we haven’t gotten done yet. Living a life that you love involves being proud and happy with yourself. So take the win!
What we need to do next is re-evaluate that list from back in January, now that we are in September. Are any of the list items that we didn’t accomplish still important? If you have list items that don’t seem that important anymore or no longer apply, cross them off!
Hopefully the list is much shorter now that you have accomplished some goals and reevaluated others. Now, let’s take a hard look at what’s left. Is it feasible to finish/complete what is on the list? If there are things that are unrealistic, move them to your New Year’s list for 2020. You’ll give it another shot next year, and get it done! This is not failure, this is planning for your future and being kind to yourself. Take some time to be thankful for what you have. The people and things in your life that make you happy.
Now, let’s look at that list. At the top of the list, Name three things that you are grateful for that happened this year. Next, list the items that you would still like to get accomplished this year in order. (Leave space under each one of them.) Under each item, write Oct, Nov, Dec. and what you plan on doing to help reach those goals each month. Remember, don’t be too hard on yourself, this is supposed to help you live a life that you love, NOT STRESS YOU OUT!
This is also the time when I draw up my monthly planning for the holidays. I am a holiday maven. I hang up decorations, lights, etc. for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years! I have a passion for scarecrows, snowmen, and glittery objects in my front yard. Not to mention the inflatables!
Well, if you’re like me, you’re ready for sweaters, apple pie, and pumpkin spiced coffee! Remember, take some time to congratulate yourself on what you have accomplished this year! We are all on this journey together, let’s enjoy the rest of 2019!
Have a Great Day!
